How to buy a golf gift without playing golf

Three rules cover almost every good golf gift, and every guide in this section is built on them. Follow them and you cannot go badly wrong even if you have never held a club.

1. Buy the things that get used up

Golfers lose balls, wear through gloves, snap tees and forget sunglasses. All four are consumables: they cannot be the wrong size, they are always welcome, and the recipient would otherwise have to buy them.
