Editorial Policy
The standards that keep our recommendations honest — and independent of how the site is funded.
Independence from funding
Tee & Tempo earns commissions through affiliate links, but our recommendations are decided before any link is added and are never influenced by which retailer pays more. We accept no payment, sponsorship or free product in exchange for coverage, a review or a ranking. If the best option for a buyer earns us nothing, it still gets the top spot.
Accuracy and sourcing
Every factual claim traces to a source. Product specs are read from the manufacturer or retailer listing, on a dated visit, and linked from the product card. Rules, handicap and participation facts are cited to governing bodies and industry sources — the USGA for the Rules of Golf and the World Handicap System, the National Golf Foundation for participation data. Where a maker does not publish a figure, we write “not published” rather than estimate it.
What we will never do
- Invent star ratings, review counts, or aggregate scores.
- Claim to have physically tested clubs we do not own, or imply a test lab we do not run.
- Claim a credential our writer does not hold, or invent tenure or expertise.
- Publish a price we cannot verify from a live retailer feed.

Opinion versus fact
We keep the two distinct. A spec is a cited fact; “best for a nervous first-timer” is our reasoned opinion, and it is framed as such. You are free to weigh our reasoning and disagree — we show it precisely so you can.
Updates and freshness
Roundups are reviewed on a regular cadence and whenever a top pick is discontinued or replaced by a new model. The “last updated” date on a page reflects a real edit, not a cosmetic bump. Prices update automatically and continuously, so the numbers you see are current or absent — never stale.
Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes. When a reader flags a factual error and they are right, we fix it promptly and note on the page that a correction was made. To report an error, use our contact page— it is genuinely the most useful message we receive.
